This year’s Windrush Day Thanksgiving Gathering (WDTG) will be truly special. Two

new activities shall be featured while guests enjoy their Caribbean buffet.

Firstly, a cohort of young people, aged 10 to 14, shall be receiving Windrush Nation

Awards for writing winning stories in the Windrush Essay Competition inspired by

their visit to the National Windrush Monument in Waterloo station.

Secondly, guests will be making history when they take part in the first Sir Geoff

Palmer appreciation society “supper.” Everyone will hear all about our scientific

genius who is the inventor of the Barley Abrasion Process; and they will be free to

toast and celebrate him.

As is our norm, guests will once again enjoy the singing of the Windrush Nation

Anthem, and hearing some more 4-generation stories from members of our

community.
