In February 2026 the leaders of Reach Society (the Society) decided to celebrate their beloved patron, Sir Geoff Palmer, who passed in June of last year.

To actualise this decision the Society shall be hosting an annual appreciation supper with family members, friends and admirers of Sir Geoff.

The first such supper shall be hosted on Saturday evening, 20 June, on the first anniversary of his passing; and it will be a special feature in the Society’s Windrush Day Thanksgiving Gathering.

This supper will also be the first action of the Sir Geoff Palmer appreciation society that has chosen to meet every June to celebrate the  community’s scientific genius who discovered the Barley Abrasion Process (or BAP) that transformed the brewing and distilling industry worldwide since 1970.
