Celebrating Our 15th Year Milestone with Friends

An inclusive milestone reception was hosted on 31 July at the Lloyd’s Tower in the City of London for more than 80 guests, comprised of friends and supporters of the Society.

A Lloyd’s hospitality room provides both a bird’s eye view of the City, and an excellent venue for hosting the Society’s second reception to mark the 15th year milestone.

On the last day of July guests arrived and began networking while enjoying the generous refreshments that was provided by Lloyd’s. Virtually everyone present had directed young people to the Society’s inspirational events, and many had played active parts in these events as volunteers.

After roughly forty-five minutes into the networking, guests heard from the Panel of Young Experts comprised of: Mariam Gbenla, Retail Compliance Analyst, Civil Servant; Ritchie Neil, Senior Account Executive, Business Services, Salesforce; Elliott Rae MBE, Founder of Parenting Out Loud, author and speaker; and Tyreish Softleigh-Palmer, Business Manager, Inclusive Futures, Lloyd’s of London.

They explored the topic entitled: “Built not given: how to forge your own path to success.”

After the Panellists outlined their diverse stories, a number of guests also shared their journeys to success adding to the richness of the session.

Prof. Donald Palmer, a cofounder of the Society, chaired this networking conversation and he reminded guests of the Society’s 15 year journey since 2010; and he shared some of the achievements; most of which were highlighted in the 8- page feature published in the March issue of the Voice newspaper (copies of which were on offer to guests).

The Society is once again grateful to Lloyd’s of London for hosting this memorable RS15 Reception.
