Insight into Bristol is an innovative residential summer school that gives students from London access to the University of Bristol’s academic expertise and facilities.

The programme is open to all state-educated Year 12 students in Greater London (or within an hour’s commute of central London). Where subject streams are over-subscribed we prioritise students who have the academic ability to come to Bristol, and who meet our widening participation criteria.

Students who take part benefit from:

sessions taught by leading academics;access to the university facilities;a chance to stay in one of our halls of residence;the opportunity to spend time in Bristol anda chance to meet and socialise with new people.

Students who successfully complete Insight into Bristol are eligible for a guaranteed offer from the university which will be at contextual level (usually two grades lower than the typical offer).

The only exceptions to this are interviewing courses such as Medicine, where we offer a guaranteed interview instead.

We also offer Insight into Bristol students support throughout Year 13 including on results day when we have a dedicated phone line for them.
